Our History
Emmanuel Osazuwa Odigie, spanning over 15 years, served as Director for Steinway Child & Family Services Inc., Home and Community Based Services (HCBS), and Children's Blended Case Management programs. Mr. Odigie founded and incorporated Supportive Services for Children Inc. (SSC) in October 2015 to continue his efforts in providing much needed help to children, youths, and families. Our goal is to work in partnership with families and all the HCBS Waiver Agencies across the 5 NYC Boroughs and Long Island, to create a more caring community and household environment.
Mission
Our mission is to provide supportive services for Seriously Emotionally Disturbed Children (SED), including Persons in Need of Supervision (PINS), and children experiencing academic challenges.
We advocate for children, youth, and families, regardless of their social and economic status, ethnicity, age, gender, religion, or nationality. Our partnership with families and other service providers helps to prevent out-of-home placement, and, most significantly, helps youths to acclimate effectively, ensuring a smooth adjustment in the home and community.
